Key responsibilities

- Lead the day-to-day operations of Goods Receiving and the warehouse/inventory activities, in line with the warehouse budget. - Order materials to run the business effectively and within the materials budget. - Monitor stock levels against Days on Hand data and forecast volumes; keep minimum/maximum stock levels and business KPIs on target. - Record and review material waste and deadstock, adjusting stock levels proactively. - Take overall responsibility for quality control of incoming goods and materials. - Lead the Stores and IDS sections, including recruitment, training, development and performance management (up to 15 direct reports). - Ensure legal and compliance requirements across health and safety, food safety and security. - Keep all ordering, goods receiving and warehouse activities in line with unit finance regulations and audit criteria. - Collaborate with Ordering, IDS, Stores and Production to monitor and replenish floating stock on time. - Communicate with internal and external customers on irregularities and work with Procurement to hold suppliers to high standards. - Drive continuous improvement across the warehouse, Stores and IDS sections.

About the role

Gate Gourmet Ireland Ltd, the airline catering business at Dublin Airport, is hiring a Manager, Material Control & Goods Receiving. Reporting to the General Manager, you will run the warehouse, inventory and goods receiving operation: storing, picking, packing and distributing materials internally, optimising material availability, and keeping stock levels and KPIs on target. You will lead the Stores and IDS sections (up to 15 direct reports) including recruitment, training, development and performance management, ensure health, safety, food safety and security compliance, and drive continuous improvement across the department. This is a permanent, full-time role on a variable shift roster. It requires a valid Republic of Ireland employment permit; the company will sponsor the General Employment Permit for the successful candidate.

Essential requirements

- Minimum of 3 years management experience with demonstrable leadership of teams in a manufacturing, airline catering or production environment. - Degree educated and/or relevant equivalent work experience at a similar level; a professional qualification in operations or logistics is preferred. - Level 3 HACCP and Level 3 Food Safety certification. - Level 3 Workplace Health & Safety / NEBOSH certification, or a commitment to complete it. - Proven leadership and the ability to manage diverse teams of varying sizes. - Strong organisational and process-improvement skills, able to critically evaluate and improve processes. - Computer literate and confident with MS Office and IT systems. - Able to work well under pressure and manage workload to achieve critical dates. - Valid entitlement to work in the Republic of Ireland, or eligibility for a General Employment Permit (the company will sponsor).
